Sir Chris Hoy has been road testing his range of bikes created in conjunction with Evans Cycles. Available in May there will be 7 in total consisting of 3 road bikes and 4 city bikes. The frames are built from 6061 aluminium or 6066 aluminium on the 2 high end versions. In the future there will be carbon models too and there’s talk of a steel Keirin bike.
The entry level road bike will cost £850 and comes with Shimano Tiagra, the next model up gets you Shimano 105 gearing with RS10 wheels, the 6066 frame and a carbon fork. The top road bike costs £1350 and comes with Shimano Ultegra components and Mavic Aksium wheel-set.
The city bikes start from £550 and that will get you a 1×8 Sram X4, disc brakes and 6061 alloy frame and fork. 1×10 Sram X5 gearing is added onto the £650 model, another £100 adds a carbon fork, 2×10 X5/8x gearing, and upgraded disc brakes. The top model gets 2×10 X7/Rival and upgraded brakes.
