An ode to the climbers

Wow! Just wow. I could leave it at that to be honest and I’m sure you would get what I meant. Starting with the writing, it’s wonderful narrative pieced together from stories, results in races and great analogies. Worthy of being a great piece of sports writing alone. That writing is about a generation of climbers that L’Equipe want to talk about and they’re right about that. Then the illustrations that capture the spirit of things in a wonderful comic way without being demeaning. Archive photographs liberally placed in an amazing graphic layout and to finish it off, built superbly as a modern scrolling site. So yea, just wow. Go get wowed here.
