Bike Storage, made in Taiwan

When I arrived in Taiwan, one of the problems of staying where we were staying, was bike storage. I spotted a neat solution four houses down from ours (my wife’s parents house). I made a passing comment about how cool it was. Then my bikes arrived and the problem of where to put my treasured bikes appeared again. As I was building them up outside a small crowd appeared…

The next thing I knew there was a guy measuring the ceiling in the front porch area. I still hadn’t twigged until I turned around and my father-in-law was making signs for me to pick my bike up-side down, which I did and got measured. A few conversations later and it was over. I thought this will be cool and maybe in a week or so I would be able to hang my bikes up. Four hours later the guy came back with the amazing hook system and had it fitted!

Turns out he lived on the corner, little did I know. All in it cost about 40 british pounds. Amazing solution and I’m a happy person for it, with much thanks to my Taiwanese family. My cycling cap goes off to the productivity of the Taiwanese, hard to fault.
