Bikes of 2017: Specialized S-Works Diverge

Specialized S-Works Diverge

The Specialized S-Works Diverge has just been launched for 2018 (but it’s still 2017 so it’s ok to call it a 2017 bike?). The catchphrase is, Shockingly fast, seriously fun. Well if you give it to Peter Sagan it is!

It seems the idea of bikes, even at the top-end, being multipurpose road machines is firmly planted in the market and we couldn’t be happier that these bikes are here to stay. The Specialized S-Works Diverge is pretty much the creme-del-la-creme of all road machines.

The diverge range is well thought out at all levels, so even the TBC but eye-watering price of the S-works being too much for most… further down the range there are still great options. The S-works frame has heaps of features, Specialized’s FACT 11r carbon, Open Road Geometry, 12x142mm thru-axle, Future Shock Progressive suspension, 20mm of travel, flat mount disc. It’s bouncy! It’s also kitted-out with some well thought out kit, Di2 XTR married to Shimano R785 Di2, hydraulic disc levers is something unexpected but very desirable. They topped it off with three water bottle mounts, mounts for racks and fenders, and their Road SWAT™ kit that fits a tube, CO2, CO2 head, valve extender, and money clip. The whole thing is ridiculous for it’s needs but you can’t help but want it.
