Chris Dekerf: Derkerf Cycle Innovations

Now here is a frame builder that I’ve admired for a long time and would love to have one of his frames – built for me of course, money aside, of course! We see a lot of these frame builder videos and pretty much everyone is a joy to watch and this one is right up there with the best. It’s great to hear their journey into cycling and then on to the final destination of bike builder, there seems to be a logical progression. One thing strikes me about these guys is they find it hard to follow a normal path of career , and if it wasn’t this then it would be something similar. It’s genuinely a cool thing, without those prepared to take the risks then we would all be on the same bikes (or a multitude of products) and that would be a very two dimensional world. So we need plenty of bike builders!

You should check out the second hand market if you really want one, my dad has picked up two in the last 3 months each for under £300

That is a thought… Prefer my own, built just for me but, I might keep an eye open… Do I have room?!
