Condor Cyclocross Disc, 29 years ago!

I have a thing for Condor bikes, yea ok I’m not the only one… I saw this  beast on the Condor blog and stopped in my tracks. I can’t help but wonder a few things. First is, 20 years ago this must of been insane, like nuts. Disc brakes were common enough on mountain bikes 20 years ago, but the [at that time] traditional world of cyclocross would have met much consternation. Secondly what did/does it ride like? And lastly, it’s awesome! Still no cyclocross disc brake world champion though?

hi, the bike is indeed mine!! built by Condors for me as a bullet proof, go anywhere bike for cyclo-cross and singletrack…it did 2 of the Three Peaks cross races, numerous cross events and miles of playing in the woods…. never broke, loads of clearance, stable, smooth and comfy…..brakes were awesome…it lasted on basic maintenance, and a wash with warm soapy water…Condor are re-building it for me, and one of the Rapha Condor racers is going to race a cross event in March this year… modern discs are much lighter and with a carbon frame, it will only be a matter of time until a disc bike wins….ciao..
