Cool stuff at the Taipei Cycle Show: Part 1

So the Taipei show is over and by all accounts it was a huge success in terms of orders, more on that here. This is generally good news and shows cycling is still growing through it’s current boom. Anyway, I thought, I would share with you, the best things I saw at the show. Starting with those that won Red Dot Design Awards. First up (pictured above) is the Topeak Prepstation. Just look at it! Serious amount of lust for this. It’s a moving trolley tool station with wheels, six tool compartments and 40 sets of quality bike tools. Check it out here – just want this now, ok, not cheap, but for the serious home mechanic this is up there with the best and the tool box is genius.

Next up (above) is the Birzman Zacoo Maha III floor pump. It’s Red Dot Award is primarily for it’s Snap-It valve head and believe you me it works. It’s a fairly simple operation with a very secure fit and after playing with it I’m keen to add one to my bike tools – and test it’s longevity (build quality looks superb). It will manage a massive 220psi so will pump any imaginable bike tyre. More on the Zacoo Maha III here.
