Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40 C

Mavic’s new Cosmic Carbone 40 C wheelset is interesting. Having 40mm deep rims they are aero enough that you’ll notice a speed gain and they can be used every day without too much side wind wobble. Pretty much the perfect fast set of wheels for all around use and with external spoke nipples you can hopefully fix them by the roadside. This kind of wheel isn’t cheap though and these Mavic’s cost over £2000. There’s a lot of choice out there for that much money, factory built or handbuilt, some lighter, some faster but either way it’s interesting to see how they are made and why they’ve been created.
