Milan San Remo 1930

Started thinking about the spring classics today. Milan San Remo being the first in March, I decided to have a look at some previous editions and came across this amazing footage from 1930. The race is pretty epic, being the longest one day race on the pro-circuit today, at 298kms and so early in the season. Usually a sprinters race, but having a couple of decent climbs built in, famously the Poggio, it can throw up some surprises. Been running since 1907 and 2013 edition will be on 17 March. Can’t wait. The footage doesn’t have any sound so pick your own soundtrack, I went for this.
