The Muro Di Guardiagrele

The clip above shows some of the fantastic footage that will be part of the David Millar project, “an immersive film capturing the very essence of professional cycling”. This particular clip is from stage 5 of this year’s Tirreno Adriatico. David is following Bradley Wiggins up the the legendary climb, the Muro Di Guardiagrele, “The Wall of Guardiagrele”. The Wall is 30% at its steepest point and even the vehicles struggle getting up it.

“My sole objective was to make it up the climb because I didn’t want a photo for prosperity from my last year of me walking up a climb with my bike.” – David Millar*

    ‘That wasn’t so bad…. F***!”
Brilliant, I love these ridiculously silly climbs; recently I was in Lake Como and attempted the Muro Di Sormano! Average 17%, with a max of 25%, but longer than this one, climbing 280m in 1.7km. Sadly I am no Quintana, and had to push the last third of it. Brutal!
