National Road Race Championships 2014

national road race championships

This year the National Road Race Championships 2014 will be taking place in Monmouthshire on 26 – 29 June. Thursday 26th will see defending National Time Trial champion Alex Dowsett race to defend the red, white and blue stripes. Bradley Wiggins will be competing too in what is going to be a great battle to see who takes the title. Between them they have won the last five years worth of National Time Trial titles, Dowsett having won the last three in a row. If Alex wins again this year he will equal the record of four wins set by Stuart Dangerfield who last won in 2005.

The weekend sees Mark Cavendish, Simon Yates and Lizzie Armitstead defend their respective titles. If you can i’d recommend getting over to Monmouthshire and watch the action up close. The course looks exciting, the countryside is beautiful and it’s going to be great racing. Here are the details on where the National Road Race Championships are being held, where to stay, sportives and the other events taking place.
