No wobbling oscar

After watching the Obree videos Steve posted the other day i’ve got fully obsessed about the hour record again which is why i thought i’d share a documentary i’ve finally got around to watching. This is the full Chris Boardman documentary The Final Hour in which he attempts the hour record for a final time before hanging up his racing shoes. The UCI had changed the rules after Obree and Boardman had broken the record with alternate body positions and frame designs so an Eddy Merckx style bike had to be used along with a standard racing position. The UCI (more like Universal Committee of Indecision in this case?) add a bit of drama to the mix, there’s Terry Dolan in his workshop and seeing the normal bits inbetween races is always interesting and is where the ‘No Wobbling Oscar’ headline came from as Chris goes riding with his children in tow. Now, 400 watts for an hour? That sounds mighty painful.

Hey Wiggo, don’t make us wait too long eh?

Interesting to see Jens and see the pair of them beaten by… Lance.
