On Saturday we were taken on a tour of Rapha’s latest Cycle Club in Spitalfields Market, London. This beautiful new location in the heart of the East End is perfectly set up to be a home for the sport and culture of road cycling and has a retail space stocked with the latest Rapha products, a Café serving fine food and drink, multiple screens for viewing racing and, unique to this Cycle Club, the Rapha Vault.
Situated on the lower ground floor The Vault allows customers to choose which kit is best suited to their needs, and to achieve the perfect fit for their riding and racing kit. Customers are able to book a complimentary appointment with a Rapha fit expert where they will have access to The Vault, a chamber with a static bike which allows customers to test the clothing in temperatures from 0 to 30 degrees and in a wind speed of up to 30 miles per hour. Appointments last one hour and can be booked online and in store.
The ground floor is home to the café and first part of retail offering, including the city range, riding accessories. The café is beautiful inside, with detailing present from the original bank. Backing onto the Spitfalfields Market, there is plenty outdoor seating with TV’s throughout the club for watching live racing and archive footage. The Pro Team range and RCC products on the lower ground floor, which is complete with changing rooms and toilet/shower facilities.
RCC Spitalfelds is very well equipped and will become a great social hub for riders in the East End. I look forward to seeing the progression of the vault. I can see some small Sufferfest style events being held in the future..
