We love Strava, it’s fun and always awesome to see how many miles you clock up, how fast your heartbeat on that monster of a climb and completing a challenge like the Rapha Festive 500. It’s helped motivation a number of times and more features are being added for premium members all the time. The latest feature is a set of Training Plans created in conjunction with Carmichael Training Systems whose training plans i’ve used before on a turbo. Agony yes, enjoyable too.
There are 10 plans covering hill climbing and sprinting lasting 4 weeks designed to create “explosive neuromuscular and anaerobic power for short sprints to lactate threshold and sustained endurance for longer climbs.” You can customise the amount of training you do from 5-12 hours a week over 5 workouts. Strava sends you emails to keep you updated on your training which can be undertaken indoors or out on the road. Interval sessions happen on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with long rides on Saturday and Sunday.
