The Adventure Show

I’ve just been reading the blog over on Milltag and saw that the Adventure Show featured the Snow Roads Audax, a mere 300k ride with 4800m of climbing. What a ride that must be. It’s dissappeared from BBC iPlayer now but did anyone get to see it? There’s a small clip here. Nice quote from one of the riders, “Pedal goes up, pedal goes down” well that’s certainly true. No other way to get through 300k of cycling.

Read more over at Milltag from Pete. I hope the show gets repeated.

I saw it. It was pretty good – I can’t decide whether it’s made me want to give it a go, or to leave well alone. I change my mind every day!

As a ride, if it rained, or was windy, or very cold, or very hot, it’d be a nightmare I think. Unless you are nails.

Pack your compact and your 28, I think.

I say go for it. I’m really glad i’ve started doing them. This year i got soaked and baked on 100k rides, makes you a bit tougher definately but over 300k? Be hard to keep your spirit up!

I’ve got my Campagnolo down to a 29 and want a bit lower for when my legs give out. Sram is probably the way forward. For some reason Audax organisers like to add in lots of killer hills.
