The mighty stage

Whoa! That is the way you climb Mont Ventoux in the 100th edition. For me, that was totally unexpected. It would’ve been so easy for Froome to just sit in the lead pack today, just keeping an eye on Quintana’s lead, not letting it get to close to his time but no. Froome beasted it. Just total admiration for Chris Froome after that. A bit of total domination we haven’t seen since that plucky American, and I’m in no way making a comparison in terms of how they achieved it. It’s just so good to see, attacking in such a position it takes some balls. Quintana is also an impressive rider, only 23 and it would be great to see a Colombian take yellow in the future. What a day, [Froome] must feel like masters of the universe right now. Headset Press’s Jamie managed to get over to the Tour for a couple of stages and got some awesome pics, check them here.

Since you raised the idea, I have serious doubts that Froome is clean.

Compare his performance in this year’s tour to that in last year’s vuelta. He was dropping four minutes per stage to Rodriguez on multiple stages, cracking on every steep climb, and basically sucking at life.

There’s no way he improved that much in less than a year. He’s a cheat for sure.

I wasn’t implying that idea! More that he has the potential to dominate like Lance did, ok Lance didn’t do that clean but, at this stage I would say it was unfair to accuse him. I think the sport will never get over it’s tarnished image it will be up to us lot to get over the cheating. That is if we want to. I think Dave Brailsford said he would give WADA all their training files etc, even that could be interpreted as an admission of guilt. It’s a no win situation isn’t it? We accuse, but have no authority, then we find out in Armstrong’s case that those with no authority were right! Now we have that situation and anything can be interpreted as suspicious. Put another way, what would you do if he [Froome] is cheating? Me, I won’t do anything (other than write a post) I just like love the sport.
