Tour de France 2015 stage eight finished on the Mûr de Bretagne and sees the end of the sprinters stages for a while. Stage seven saw Cavendish take a much needed win and it was a great three up sprint. Greipel, Sagan and Cavendish. Classic stuff, well worth another watch. I tend to think once Cavendish starts believing he can win he does. As long as he makes it over the mountains we will see him try again. If anyone doubts his ability, he is the third in line to the crown of the most stages won in the Tour. The lad is a legend. Just don’t let him talk to journalists for too long.
Stage eight win the Mûr de Bretagne just before the finish line was going to be punchy. As usual all the key players were there. Nothing unexpected happened until the last 800 metres. I swear Froome said something to Vuillermoz, can’t imagine what. Looking at the contenders, you have to wonder if any of them can actually beat Froome. I think Froome has really shown some great riding and character. He seems to be taking the role of the elder statesman in the peloton, which is rightly his position. He is the one to do it.
