Wiggins slings bike at wall

A pretty disappointing end to the Grio del Trentino for Bradley Wiggins yesterday. Going into the stage with a slight lead over Vincenzo Nibabli it all came down to the final climb. Sadly the electronic gearing on Wiggo’s bike packed in at that crucial moment. The bike then got slung against the wall in frustration, gliding along and parking itself up! He’s looking in such good form too and is climbing very well but after waiting for a replacement bike it was always going to be tough to catch the group on such a gradient. You can watch a slightly longer version of what happened here or the short clip below.

If I’m not actually sitting on it, my bike has a tendency to veer away and crumple in a heap even on flat land. That’s why you pay extra for a self-parking Pinarello.
