Yvonne McGregor

I’m sure i’ve mentioned before that I have a fascination about the hour record and those that attempt to break it. Here is one such person, Yvonne McGregor who in 1995 broke the women’s record with 47.411 km/h. This was only one of her achievements. She won a gold medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in the 25k points race, a bronze at the Sydney Olympics, became the world pursuit championship and has beaten the 10 mile and 25 mile British records set by Beryl Burton. I can’t find much footage of her and nothing of the hour record attempt but here she is taking gold in the world pusuit championships:
